By taking the time to practice, and practice well with all of your clubs, your game will greatly improve. The most cost efficient and convenient way to do this is right in your backyard with the help of some useful golf training aids. The aids you choose can range anywhere from a realistic golf driving range mat, an outdoor putting green, or even just a great golf hitting mat you can set up in or outside of your house alongside a net.

The only problem many golfers face with this issue of practice is that they do not feel it is easy to have golf practice. There are not many apparently easy and convenient ways to practice golf, many people think. It’s not like you can just go outside and shoot like with a basketball hoop. Or is it? There are some great golf driving range mats that you can use right out in your backyard that can give you that easy, convenient, and useful practice. Additionally, there are other outstanding and useful golf training aids like limited flight balls and realistic putting greens that make practice available in any size yard.

If you don’t think you have the time to practice and play, you are not alone. Fortunately, there are some great ways to practice, from right in your backyard. When you think of a quality golf range mat, you likely have nightmares of the ride to the range, the overpriced bucket of balls you hit, and the lackluster amount of swings you are able to take with each club. What you should want out of a great driving range mat, however, is the ability for flexibility. Being able to go in your backyard and practice with an outdoor golf training aid is something that will save you time and money while improving your game! It is a truly simple and convenient way to get the practice you need in before you hit the course.

Because all of us are not professional golfers, and do not have an exorbitant amount of time nor funds to spend on our golf practice, practice is often sacrificed in lieu of playing on the course. This trade-off, however, does not have to happen. By going a getting an outstanding range mat to serve as a golf training aid right in your backyard, your game will vastly improve. Just simple practice with limited flight balls and driving range mats composed of state-of-the-art golf swing surfaces will definitely allow you to get a practice comparable to that of the professionals at a fraction of the cost and time. Best of luck with your practice, and make sure to take something away from your viewing of the Masters.

“Practice is not to take the place of teaching, but to make teaching worthwhile.” -Harvey Penick

“They might be able to beat me, but they’ll never out practice me.” -Jerry Barber

To practice skills and techniques learned from teachers and instructors is imperative. Most golfers do not practice enough because they lack the proper equipment, whether it be a realistic golf driving mat to help improve their driving, or a backyard golf pitching mat and putting training aid to help with their short game at home. So, look into getting some solid golf training aids, and you will be able to get some great practice in a convenient manner from right out back whenever you need it.

The problem with a fat shot lies within the practice regimens of many golfers: going to a range, hitting balls on faulty mats, and thinking their shot is fine prior to a round. By shooting on mats that just let your club slide to the ball, nothing really is gained mechanically from your practice. Practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. Therefore, it is essential to train with proper equipment. I would recommend using golf mats that provide you with actual feedback. Real Feel golf mats provide this type of feedback, and allow for a realistic fat shot while practice. This gives the golfer a chance to fix their mechanics prior to their round instead of embarrassing themselves on the course.

Ideally we’d all practice our golf swing off of the Augusta Fairways if we could. Unfortunately even true green can’t keep my lawn in that kind of shape – not to mention the divots!

But seriously If you want to improve your golf game practice on real grass or a quality range mat. Driving range mats vary greatly in quality and true feel – especially when you strike the ball at impact.

You want to make sure that the range you choose to support with your patronage doesn’t have golf mats that are hurting your swing. Please think about spending the extra dollar or two per bucket of balls if a driving range owner is making an effort to provide your with a quality realistic golf mat to hit off of.

Poor quality driving range mats can hurt your swing - so if you don’t have ranges to choose from and your stuck on bad mats – do yourself a favor and work on your drive. If your hitting off of a tee you should be fine.

Also please tell your range owner about the Real Feel Golf Mat and tell him that you’d come out more often if he’d offer a better golf mat to hit off of.

Another option is to set-up a home practice range. Buy a Golf Mat and net to practice your golf game at home.

It’s hard to find time to practice your golf game when life gets in the way. And the million dollar question is, even if you can find the time to practice golf are you sure the practicing the correct things to improve your golf game? Here are a few golf tips to help you make the most of your time at the driving range.
1) Identify Your Weaknesses and Practice That Aspeact Of your Game. One of the biggest mistakes golfer’s make when practicing – is that they practice what they are good at. I’m guilty of this myself and it’s easy to understand. When I’m pounding the ball off of the tee, but putting poorly — It’s much more fun to drive a bucket of balls off of the golf mats, strike a pose and watch the ball sail a few hundred yards rather than head down to the putting green and get depressed missing a pile of four-footers.

2) Now that you have determined what it if that you want to practice you have to you need to determine practice drills that will help. I also like to come up with goals that indicate success. For example I’ll pledge not to leave the practice green until I make 8 out of ten putts from without leaving a putt short. This is where professional golf instruction will pay off – have your golf pro give you specific drills to work on during your practice session and keep a golf practice journal to chart your progress as well as struggles. One of the worst things you can do is practice in ignorance – you could actually be practicing and reinforcing your swing faults.

3) Practice Golf at Home – Ask your instructor for golf drills that you can do at home (inside or in your backyard). Some drills can even be done without a club or ball (core weight transfer drills, one piece takeaway, ….) There are some great golf practice mats available today that make it easy to work on your short game in the backyard to help develop touch around the green.

4) Practice Putting at the office – If you have a casual office atmosphere, see if you can get an office putting green. We have a putt off every day we can at my office and chart the results on a calendar for all to see. The putts are 6-foot and in and usually we keep the putting mat flat. You wouldn’t believe the pressure – great practice for the real thing.
5) Get Feedback. Buy A Golf Mirror or have your Spouse or friend give you feedback. Sometime what we think we are doing in our mind is not at all what we are doing in reality. If your trying not to sway or dip or slide – ask for some feedback or get some other training aids that will tell you the trueth.

6) Practice slowly and deliberately on the driving range. If your in full swing mode for example go through your whole routine – pre-shot, address, practice swing, and swing. And then evaluate each shot and try and pick-up and flaws in your swing. The Same goes for putting drills on the practice green – approach each shot like it’s the real deal. This will increase your consistency dramatically when it’s time to take it to the course.

7) Journal your practice sessions and rounds played. Track fairways, greens in regulation, and putts at a minimum. And remember to practice the weak areas of your game. You may not see a drop in your scores right away, but stay with and I guarantee you will. A good possative measure is to to track your good holes for example how many pars, birdies, and bogies (depending on your handicap) did you get. If you better your good scores, your big numbers will also drop and you’ll start seeing better scores.

Please share some of your practice tips or drills

The range is expensive, and sometimes can run at least twenty dollars to properly work through your bag before a round. There are, however, other ways to become a better golfer that may not just be found at a driving range. One way is to set up a backyard golf practice area. Doing something to this extent would include getting a putting green or even just a golf mat and some limited flight balls.

By having a golf mat and the limited flight balls, a flag could be placed as a target if a putting green is something that could not be added in your backyard. The limited flight balls, also known as birdie balls, can show true flight patterns in shots while being contained within your backyard. This allows for realistic flight without an extraordinary amount of space.

If space is an issue for you, golf nets are great to have as well. Setting up a golf mat and net in your backyard can give you a feel for the shots and you can take as many or as little shots as you need to practice. There is no set number of shots you have to hit, and if you tire, it is nice to not have to finish your bucket just because you spent ten dollars on it. While the range is great, setting up something in the backyard is also something to consider.

Pending how often visits are made to the driving range, a golfer will be able to determine how often to use what club a certain number of times each trip to the range. If a golfer were to be able to go three times a week, they could practice woods and driver, long irons, and the short irons and wedges each day, but the days also can be contracted or expanded upon pending an increase or decrease in attendance at the range.

When you go to the range, there also is often one part of the game overlooked. This aspect, while frustrating, and tedious, may be the most important thing one could practice whenever they decide to practice for the irons, woods, wedges, and driver. The aspect being spoken of is putting. Being able to putt when a round is on the line, or to save par, or to simply beat your opponent by knocking down a bogey or double-bogey stroke is one of the hardest mental and physical challenges the game of golf can provide you with. By taking into consideration all of these aspects of this game while at the range, however, your game will certainly improve considerably.
